Mathematics

At Pontesbury, we equip the children with the knowledge and skills they need in order to develop into confident, enthusiastic and independent mathematicians, who are able to calculate mentally, think critically, reason systematically and problem solve logically.

In EYFS and Key Stage 1, we use White Rose Maths scheme whilst in Key Stage 2, we use the Busy Ant Maths scheme to ensure coverage of the National Curriculum with clear sequencing and progression of knowledge that build knowledge over time. Teachers will supplement these schemes with a variety of resources to support pupils with SEND, and to challenge more able pupils with Mastery tasks.

We follow the medium-term planning from the White Rose Maths and Busy Ants Maths Scheme.
