Wonderful News! This week, we had our final OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) audit. Beth has been our OPAL mentor for the past 18 months helping us with setting up our outdoor provision and this week, she came to see how well we are delivering the OPAL offer.
OPAL has involved many meetings, training, paperwork, sourcing materials, fundraising and constructing our outdoor areas. I’m pleased to say Beth was very impressed with everything we have in place and our plans for the year ahead. So much so, that we were awarded the ‘Platinum Award’ and told that we received the highest score that she had ever awarded to one of her schools.
A huge ‘thank you’ to all of the staff, including Mrs Giles and Mrs Hilditch, for their effort with setting up and refreshing the different areas outside; FOPPS and all of you as our school community, for fundraising and donations. We plan to continue with our OPAL support and will be reaccredited in 2 years time so hopefully we will continue to make our playtimes even better.
