Pontesbury CE Primary School is situated in a delightful village not far from the Shropshire town of Shrewsbury, UK. We are very proud or our school, it's children and staff. At Pontesbury CE Primary School, we recognise the positive outcomes that a high-quality PE and school sport curriculum can achieve in all personal, social, cognitive and physical aspects of a child’s development and well-being. We aim to embed a culture of participation, enjoyment and achievement in sport, whilst building an understanding of health and well-being in our pupils that they continue to follow throughout their lives.
The positive values that children learn through sports, such as fairness and respect are fully integrated into the school ethos and our PE curriculum ensures that pupils of all abilities have access to all the activities we offer in order to encourage them to lead healthy, active lives. Our school sport programme offers a wide array of activities and extensive opportunities for participation and we are currently looking at creating more opportunities for our children.
National Curriculum Aims 2014:
- Pupils have the ability to be physically active for sustained periods of time.

- Pupils to be supported to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
